Hello, family and friends. This is Stefene bringing you the latest news of your beloved Team Jamaica. Thank you so much for all your love and support, it brings so much joy to our team to receive all of your encouraging comments. When I was asked to write the blog tonight, I decided to write it in my own style. So here it goes. . .
What a glorious morning
Lindsey and Kristin waking us up
With heavy eyes, we roll out of bed
Breakfast time, grab a plate and a cup
Cinnamon rolls, bananas, cereal and more
Some eggs, some bacon, and orange juice galore
Wash those dishes, and onto the bus
I got the bug spray, so don’t you fuss
We were off to lead devotions
Teach kids songs and all these silly motions
We shared a skit about getting caught up in sin
The only way to be free is to let Jesus in
Then Garrett came up and explained it all
He shared that we all mistakes and sometimes we fall
But the person we should look to is our Lord and Savior
He will help us stand firm in righteous behavior
Then off we went again, with our bus driver Chris
We had errands to run, lunch being the top of our list
Some good Jamaican cocoa bread
Beef and chicken patties
We ate till we were full,
Don’t worry we’re not turning into fatties
We then went to a community center for local youth
We sang songs of love, and God's truth
We danced around and then it was craft time
We made beautiful fish, that glittered and shined
We ended our time with a fun little game
called heads up seven up, it was anything but lame

We were sad to leave, but promised to returnWith more games and songs and some time to learn
Then off we went to go souvenir shopping
At the Jamaican craft market where there is lots of bargaining
We bought some cool stuff
And made some great friends
And vendors would call to us
And vow they were the only one with the latest trends
With the lowest prices, or so we thought
We learned quickly, to look around before we bought
You would be proud to see the skills we gained
To buy what we wanted without our pockets being pained
Sam and Garrett found a unique little shop
That didn’t look like any others, out of all it was top
The girls buying jewelry, the boys buying who knows what
We all had fun going from little hut to hut
Everyone selling just about the same stuff
A couple hours and we all had enough
Listening to our tummy’s we decided to go
It was close to dinner time and we were running low on dough
So we drove back home for some amazing food
Beef stew, corn and buttered fish to put us in a better mood
Once dinner was done we were off again
A walk into town to run into old friends
To talk about Christ or just hang out
We run into those who sing, scream and shout
Available and willing to be God’s tools Knowing that every person we run into are His precious jewels
People we run into are always saying
How we are different, we are so friendly
We met a man named Scratchy who came up to us
He wanted to hang out and learn something about Jesus
What a wonderful night, we all headed back
So tired and exhausted it was time to hit the sack
Praise God for these opportunities, these moments
He is our strength and guide despite our weakness
Doing His work brings joy to the heart Struggles and laughter, they all play a part
So be confident to know that God is so real in us

To The Team:
Great blogsite! Keep up the good work and bless you all.
Regards from Cape Town, South Africa
Hi team. Another great update on the blog. Thanks again for all your updates and sacrificing a little sleep to keep us at home caught up on everything. It's hard to believe your time there is winding down. Press on and keep up all your good work and you'll all be back to awaiting families and friends within the week. We can't wait to see you, hear your stories first hand and see additional pictures. Tyler, I just got a peek at a calender to realize your b-day is in a week, you'll be home and we'll be in LV shortly after. I can't tell you how forward I'm looking to it all! Also from me, happy b-day Andrew-seems funny to send a note to Jamaica so it can be read by the person down the street! :) Also, Molly, nice Train lyrics. :)
Hi All,
Well, this is a bit weird for a posting but Chuck just forwarded the following info that was sent to the hospital he works at. He asked me to post it in case it applies to any of you:
People who use Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) CompleteR MoisturePlusTM Multi-Purpose Solution should:
· Stop using the product immediately and discard all remaining solution including partially used or unopened bottles. Choose an alternative contact lens solution.
· Discard current lens storage container.
· Discard current pair of soft lenses.
· See a health care provider if experiencing any sign of eye infection: pain, redness, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, sensation of something in the eye, or excessive tearing.
I'll write more later!
Connie

Hi, Team Jamaica:
Yesterday was memorial day. Days like yesterday bring to the forefront what's really important, and help us appreciate, even more, what you are all doing over there--your part to bring light to the world. We are so proud of you.
Sami, I'm glad to hear your thumb has mended. God is good and faithful!
Grace, thanks for your "missions" heart. You are a testimony to me. I can't wait to see you soon.
Love you very much. Mom
Hi Jamaica Team.....So excited to read all the blogs. My laptop took a dive on Friday and just got back into work today. Such great inspiration!!!!
Hi Tyler, Miss you, Miss you!
Service for Kristin was yesterday, a weekend full of Family. First a wedding for Erica on Saturday, that was FUN! The funeral was so awesome, and it always amazes me the wonderful "Family" we have. Andrew played guitar with Amy singing at the service. I wished him a "Happy Birthday" It was Kathy's Birthday too. They said they read your blog and were impressed. Can't wait to see you next week.......LOTS OF LOVE, Mom
Hi Jen and TEAM from GG,the photo of someone sitting on a rock should be entered in a contest. It says more to me about God than anything I can think of. I am so happy that The Glass Castle was read. I loved that book. Also if you have a chance to tell Jason who seems to be in Cape Town, South Africa, I was there for 3 days and loved it! If he would like to email me, address is lagasseg@san.rr.com If I had his email, might be fun to exchange notes. Just a thought. Have to get new skateboard, wore the old one out doing flips and double rolls, etc. LOVE to you and Hugs to TEAM JAMACIA. See you at the airport, GG

Hello Team,
My gosh, when you write tonights blog you will only have one day left of service work. Is that right? I imagine you are feeling mixed emotions. No matter what, you have brought light to so many children and adults. More people have been affected by you than you know. On Saturday we are going to see some tired but transformed college missionaries that have made the world a better place. Jen, we are back into our normal lives again after being in the desert for four days. I will have your room spic n' span so that you can sleep, sleep, sleep. Ally got a new bathing suit but needs your approval before keeping it. The thought of hugging you makes me so happy! I can't wait to hug all of the team members. You all have made my mom so happy. Like I said before, you have no idea of how many people this trip has influenced for the better. I love you all and to you Jen, Jen, should I tell the ensemble at church that you are ready to join the group? I love you TONS AND TONS, MOM

To Stef:
The years have gone by so quick
It only seems like yesterday that I was biting and pinching you
But it’s Samara I’m doing it to now.
My pup has grown up to be a young woman in Christ, and a missionary to Jamaica at that.
Who’d think at 21 years ago you would be in Jamaica at this time in your life
But Pup remember this… We are so proud of you.
We miss you and look forward to you coming home to share all of your experiences through Christ
We love you… Happy 21st birthday
Keep seeking Jesus with all your heart, soul, body, mind and spirit.
Love Dad
Stef, your birthday is today, but you’re off in Jamaica
I’d make you come home already if only I could make ya.
But since I can’t do that I’ll at least do this
Wish you a happy birthday with love and a kiss.
Jacob
For my Sister Stef:
Roses are red, Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet and my sister is too.
She follows God’s ways, she’s family and my friend
Days I spend with her I wish would never end.
Love, Your Little Sis, Shayna Cruz
To our daughter Stefe whose far away in Jamaica
The whole gang here wishes we were celebrating witcha
Wish we were commenting on your blogs everyday
We loved reading your latest entry done in your own special way.
My have the years flown by, your already twenty-one
You have always been a bundle of joy and totally fun!
Along with this birthday wish, thought we’d tell you a few things
Of how everyone’s doing and the good wishes they bring.
Sarah is living and working in Temecula with an older couple for roommates
Things with Josh’s sister didn’t work out as she had anticipate
Not anything new to report, but she did get the teaching job there
So she’s excited about being a teacher and will need a new wardrobe to wear.
Josiah is still working at Mervyns but pau with school
He’s pau with vball coaching and SP Varsity in Division 2 rules.
Yep, they won CIF – Josiah and the team had a blast
Too bad he’s not as successful in his Palomar class.
Jacob will finish school on Wednesday and has done his very best
A’s in every subject and MVP for Vball as you may have guessed.
He also played spring football and had a scrimmage this Friday past
Tackled down the rusher in flag football, we all had a blast.
Sheri knows for sure that she’ll be going to Del Dios next school year
She also has a vball tournament on Saturday which you’ll miss we fear.
Sheri’s is doing well to finish Rincon’s seventh grade
She and I are trying to learn that the kitchen we must not raid.
She’s also very helpful with everything with the kids
For the most part she tries not to complain for all our bids.
Shayna is catching on to the volleyball just like her older siblings
She is also doing well in school from the moment the bell rings.
We’ll be registering her at Miller School for fourth grade this week
Don’t know who the teachers are, but the best is what we’ll seek.
Sianna is doing well in Kindergarten especially in reading any word
Her ability to read is uncanny and absurd.
She hasn’t changed much as she still sneaks around
We swear she’s one that won’t keep her feet on the ground.
Samara will be going to Kindergarten at Miller as well
Picked up the forms today just after the lunch bell.
The ladies who work in the office are still all there
Said they just were talking about our family and how we all fared.
Hopefully Samara will be in the class with Chapparone and Smith
They are probably more progressive teachers for her to be with.
Jared and Shannen are growing leaps and bounds day by day
Both are getting cuter in their own little ways.
Jared at times is a rascal and a little troublemaker
While Shannen is getting better to not be a middle of the night waker.
Dad and I are doing fine, we still covet your prayers each day
For we continue to seek God’s plan and His way.
Hey, we just got your call from Jamaica and we’re glad to say
To our 21 year old daughter STEFENE - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Well enough about us it’s time to bring this to an end
We pray that this note will be a blessing as I finally hit SEND!
Dear Stef, I hope you can come home quick because I love you and miss you so much. Sheri cleaned our room. I just wanted you to know that.
Love Mara
stefene,
here is comment two, :) (making up for lost time) so... it is so neat that each day you have spent in Jamaica you have been a huge kingdom builder :) and that God is using and developing your Spiritual gifts,,, AAAmazing!!! seeing you each day and in talking to you today it has been fantastic because you are using them so well!!! Comment three, it is neat because your family is "cruz"ing right along with me... we didnt even plan it (tee hee) :)
